Hinds, G.  (1999).  Beowulf.  Cambridge: Candlewick Press. 0763630233.  4Q/4P.  Original paintings.

In this graphic adaptation of Beowulf, he battles many foes, including Grendel, a great dragon and a sea monster.

Sophisticated Language: In this translation of Beowulf the author uses both sophisticated language and simplified language to tell the story.  This allows for the author to stay true to the drama and poetic style of the story while also making it more accessible to readers.  An Example of the sophisticated language in the story ise; “So I predict a worse adventure for thee-though doubtless thou art a sturdy warrior in the shock of battle –if thou dare to await Grendel’s coming through the watch of night”.
