Emily the Strange: let there be dark

Emily the Strange:  Let There be Dark by Rob Reger, Jessica Gruner, Brian Brooks, Kitty Remington and

Buzz Parker, Ill.  Milwaukie, OR:  Dark Horse Comics, Inc. 2006.  ISBN 1-59307-467-0

This is the third in the Emily the Strange comic book series.  Emily can not only be found on the comic-book pages, but on t-shirts, jewelry, toys, she has her own website and even is featured on an ALA poster to promote teen reading.  However, this volume will have its critics.  From the blasphemous references to God and human creation, including "Human life started from this nasty hairclod" to the "interview" with Marilyn Manson where he makes the comment "I'm bored with worshipping the devil, shooting up schools and humping security guards' heads, so I think I'm going to go to church.", this volume has plenty to cause concern, and could very likely be challenged.
