Frankenstein Takes the Cake by Adam Rex.  NY:  Harper Row, 2008. ISBN 978-0-15-206235-4

Not your typical Frankenstein story, this is the follow-up to the best selling Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich.  Told in rhyme, riddle, blog, even haiku, this story is about the upcoming marriage of Frankenstein and his undead bride.

Illustrations:  Pencil, charcoal, oils, PhotoShop

Themes:  Monsters, Poetry

Literary Device:  Rhyme-Frankenstein Takes the Cake doesn't sto the rhyming on the front cover, but is used throughout.  In the passage called, "The Sphinx ain't all that-Yeah, you heard Me" it goes, "I'm just saying, the Sphinx ain't as great as she thinks.  Her Egyptian hat thing is all covered in bling, and she has a nice face, but I'll cut to the chase:  From her neck to the butt, she don't look like King Tut".  And, it goes on and on, filled with rhymes that will amuse the reader.
