The story of Jane Eyre is marked by social criticism and femanism in England.  A young girl is sent to live with her aunt and uncle after her parents die of typhus.  When her unlce dies she is treated horribly and sent to a bording school.  Later she works at Thornfield mansion where she falls in love with the master of the house who is already married.
