Artwork: The author/illustrator uses a series of photographs, black and color ink. The illustrations convey a mood of the period in which civil unrest was commonplace in many cities in the Southern part of the United States. The frames shift from photos to color ink and back again. The reader feels as if they are truly transported back in time with the photos and images of the period.
