"An honest look at the dark side of human nature" (http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=4703) Based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe, Ravenous is about a serial killer who is loose in the city of Good Fortune and a detective who is chasing his inner demon. 

 

Literary Devices:

The story combines a mix of allusion, metaphore,

onomatopoeia, rhyme, rhythem, simile, sophisticated language and symbolism. 

 

Curriculum Connections:

The graphic novel can be used to teach teens in seventh grade and higher about Edgar Allan Poe.  The story can also be used to teach symbolism and metaphor.
