The star of David is said to have been worn by all of Denmark as a way to show their support for their Dane-Jews during the Nazi invation. This beautiful story turns the star of David into a symbol of unity. This could be used in a 5th or 6th grade history class as a lesson about WWII; highlighting the people in Europe who were willing to support the Jewish peoples.

The illustrator, Henri Sorenson, presents his artwork on both pages leaving the left or right side for text of the story. The pictures look like colorful artwork you would see in a museum with the exception of the pages discussing the rumors of other European Jews being taken away and those two pages are done in various shades of brown.
